With over twenty years of experience in the massage and bodywork field, I have a wide variety of techniques and skills I can use. While I mainly choose to use CranioSacral & SomatoEmotional techniques in my practice due to their effectiveness, I will often use various other techniques or modalities to help clients feel their best.
CranioSacral Therapy/SomatoEmotional Release
CranioSacral Therapy works with your bodies natural healing abilities to get to the core of what is causing the pain and help relieve that. CranioSacral Therapy is done while you lie fully clothed on a massage table while Stephanie, the CranioSacral Therapist, holds places on your body and allow the fascia and restrictions to fully release. CranioSacral Therapy is based on what you need for that day and your body is given the space and time to comfortably release restrictions and whatever else may be causing discomfort.
SomatoEmotional Release is a part of CranioSacral Therapy. We can hold and store emotions and stress in our bodies and when those areas are touched or treated, the emotions can sometimes come out. SomatoEmotional Release can be a wonderful way for your body to release stored tension in a gentle and safe way. SomatoEmotional release is not something that can be done to you but rather something your body must be ready to let go of. I am trained to work with you during this release if it comes up.
Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Bodywork is an effective tool for managing this stress, which translates into:
- Decreased anxiety.
- Enhanced sleep quality.
- Greater energy.
- Improved concentration.
- Increased circulation.
- Reduced fatigue.
In my bodywork sessions, I use an individual approach based on what the client needs that day. Some of the techniques I might use are massage, craniosacral, cupping, trigger point releases, stretching, and positional releases.
Incorporating cupping and hot stones into my practice has allowed me to release tension and stress in more ways. Muscles often tighten up, becoming painful and stiff when you have an injury or chronic tension. Cupping helps to lift, stretch, and separate the tissues to create space, decrease pain, and improve function. Cupping therapy is great for many conditions including, but not limited to, back pain, neck pain, muscle soreness, headaches, migraines and much more. Hot stones allow me to more easily warm the tissue, relieve muscle tension & pain, reduce stress & anxiety, and help the body relax at a deeper level!
